Bottle Rocket
Luke Wilson was just another regular guy when he moved to Hollywood in 1993. His breakthrough movie “Bottle Rocket” was written by Luke’s brother Owen and family friend and director Wes Anderson. Luke played the role of Anthony Adams in the movie, and Owen played Anthony’s friend Dignan. Eldest Wilson brother also appeared in the movie, playing Dignan’s older brother and bully. The film was made originally in 1994 as a 13-minute short and later turned into a full length film. The unique style of comedy propelled the Wilson’s into successful Hollywood career. (The Bottle Rocket soundtrack isn’t bad either!)
After Bottle Rocket
After their first film, Owen Wilson’s career took off quickly. Luke followed soon after. He would go on to appear in hugely popular films like Old School, Legally Blonde 1, The Royal Tenenbaums, and many others.
Beyond Acting
Luke Wilson isn’t just an actor. He began his career with screenwriting, and he continued and expanded on his original efforts with The Wendell Baker Story. He wrote, directed, and starred in this movie with his two brothers Owen and Andrew and several other well-known actors.
Luke has not only appeared in movies. He’s also been in music videos (by friend Willie Nelson), television shows including the David Letterman Show and That 70’s Show, and several commercials.
