Unlike some actors, both of the Wilson brothers were lucky enough to star in well-known movies even early on in their careers. Both of the brothers had memorable roles in the movie The Royal Tenenbaums, for example. The Royal Tenenbaums DVD features the Wilson brothers, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, and other great actors and actresses.

The story is about Royal, the father, who abandoned his children years ago. He has come back with some surprising news. The movie is well worth watching, and the soundtrack is also excellent. Here are soundtracks for a few great Luke Wilson films:
- The Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack featuring “Police & Thieves” (the Clash), “Wigwam” (Bob Dylan), “Judy is a Punk” (the Ramones), and several selections by Mark Mothersbaugh.
- Rushmore soundtrack features bands from the British Invasion of the 1960’s. Tracks include “Here Comes My Baby” and “The Wind” (Cat Stevens), “Nothing in This World Can Stop Me Worrying Bout that Girl” (the Kinks), and songs by Ost, the Who, John Lennon, the Faces, and others.
- Bottle Rocket soundtrack is another popular one. These tracks accompanied the Wilsons’ first movie, Bottle rocket, which achieved impressive attention, especially considering that it was the first film written by the Wilson brothers.
- Henry Poole is Here soundtrack has done quite well. It features “Love of the Loveless” by the Eels, “Promises” by Badly Drawn Boy, “All Roads Lead Home” by Golden State, and several other notable tunes.
Last but not least, the family film Hoot the Movie shows the range of diversity Luke Wilson has as an actor. As one of his few “bad guy” roles, he does a great job of playing the incompetent policeman Officer Delinko. He has a way of making characters endearing, funny, and realistic all at the same time.
